The matching jali transom panel above runs the full width of the door, continuing the geometric pattern in a single long band — completing the frame with a unity and elegance that speaks directly to the master builders of Rajasthan's greatest havelis and palace courts.
The solid wooden frame and stiles that hold this extraordinary ironwork are finished in the original sage green paint — beautifully weathered and aged, revealing warm bare timber beneath in that gloriously natural, unrestored way that no paint effect can ever replicate. The original brass pull handle gleams warmly against the green, and the original iron sliding bolt latch sits firmly in place at mid-height — both perfectly intact after generations of daily use.
