Wooden Door MA61 – Antique Double Leaf Door with Arched Iron Grille Transom, Iron Mesh Panels & Carved Sunburst Medallions Ancient, atmospheric, and achingly beautiful — this extraordinary antique double-leaf door is a rare convergence of iron and wood, shadow and light, raw strength and breathtaking decorative artistry, all wrapped in the gloriously weathered patina of genuine Indian heritage. Towering in presence, this magnificent door arrives complete with its original arched transom above — an elegantly curved frame filled with vertical iron bars that fan outward like rays of the sun, flooding the space above with air and filtered light in the most dramatic way. The two door leaves are fitted with four large square iron mesh panels — two per leaf — creating a beautifully open, latticed character that speaks directly to the grand ventilated doorways of Rajasthani and Mughal-era courtyard homes, where air flow and grandeur were designed to coexist. At the base of each leaf sits the crowning glory of this piece — a deeply hand-carved sunburst medallion panel, its radiating petals fanning outward from a central boss with extraordinary precision and confidence. These carvings are bold, deeply cut, and utterly magnificent — the work of a master craftsman operating at the very height of his skill. The original iron bar latch still crosses the full width of both leaves at mid-height, perfectly intact after generations of use.
